Nepal: The Highland Ride

Day 01 : Arrival in Kathmandu

Your Nepal adventure bike tour begins as soon as you arrive at the Airport. Our team will be there to welcome you and transfer you to your hotel in the heart of the city. Once you check in, you’ll be welcomed with a refreshing drink, take in your first glimpses of the Kathmandu Valley and the towering Himalayas, setting the mood for the journey ahead.

As evening approaches, we come together for a comprehensive tour briefing, an essential part of adventure motorcycle touring in Nepal. You’ll meet your Tour Manager and fellow riders, review the route, safety guidelines, and terrain conditions, and then experience the moment that turns anticipation into reality—motorcycle allocation. Running your hand across your machine’s tank, adjusting levers and mirrors, you’ll feel the power that will carry you through the next 11 days of adventure.

The day concludes with a traditional Nepali dinner accompanied by vibrant cultural folk performances, offering a deeper immersion into the country’s rich heritage. Afterward, enjoy a restful night—your Himalayan journey has begun, and tomorrow the ride leads you straight into the heart of Nepal.

Day 02 : Kathmandu - Nuwakot - Gorkha(180 KM | 6-7 Hrs)

After breakfast, gear up to meet the Road Captain and Dream Riders crew in the hotel lobby for the day’s briefing. Helmets on, throttles ready, the Kathmandu adventure trip kicks off as we roll out of Kathmandu, slicing through its buzzing streets and easing into the raw rhythm of Kathmandu bike tour.

The road soon starts climbing toward the green walls of Shivapuri National Park. A steady ascent rewards you with sweeping Himalayan views —long curves, open vistas, and that unmistakable feeling of freedom that only riders understand.

Soon we cruise into Nuwakot, a historic hill town crowned with old forts and timeless charm. We'll take a short tea break here then back on the saddle. As you ride through Salayantar and Aarughat, the trail keeps reminding you why you chose this adventure.

By evening, we roll into Gorkha—the land of warriors, legends, and raw mountain spirit. This hill town marks the perfect end to a day packed with climbs, curves, culture, and camaraderie.

  • Accomodation: 3 * Hotel
  • Meals: Breafast and Dinner
Day 03 : Gorkha - Palungtar - Tal dharapani(111KM | 5-6Hrs)

After breakfast, helmets click shut and gloves tighten—Day 03 is where the ride gets real. This is the soul of the Gorkha bike adventure, where smooth roads give way to raw Himalayan trails.

The ride begins with a 12 km downhill from Gorkha, a perfect warm-up before heading toward Palungtar. Riding through Palungtar Nepal means village roads and terraced fields. From Palungtar, we ride through the legendary Manang route near Besisahar. The terrain toughens, the road narrows, and the Himalayas step closer.

The ride from Besisahar to Tal Dharapani is iconic—demanding, dramatic, and deeply rewarding. Rocky single-lane tracks snake through remote Himalayan villages like Chyamje, Bagarchhap, and Timangl.

Expect loose gravel, water crossings, and waterfalls crashing straight onto the trail. This ride is rougher, tougher, and far more adventurous than anything before—and that’s exactly why it’s unforgettable.

By evening, you roll into Dharapani Village, arms tired, face dusty, and smile wide. Today wasn’t about speed or comfort—it was about control, courage, and camaraderie. Overnight stay at Tal (Dharapani region).

  • Accomodation: Guest House
  • Meals: Breakast and Dinner
Day 04 : Tal Dharapani - Manang(60 KM | 2-3 Hrs)

After breakfast, the mountains call louder than ever. Engines fire up, visors come down, and we leave Tal behind—ready to ride deeper into the high Himalayas. The trail begins to ascend steadily, before opening into the vast wilderness of the Manang Valley. As we ride toward Chame, the surroundings turn quieter, bigger, and more intense.

Then come the giants. The frozen faces of Manaslu, Annapurna, and Himalchuli dominate the skyline. Every throttle twist feels small against their scale—and that’s exactly what makes this ride unforgettable.

The Annapurna trail grows rougher with every kilometer as you ride through remote villages like Bagarchhap, Danakyu, and Timang. Short halts aren’t just for rest—they’re moments to stand still and absorb the unreal views of Lamjung Himal, followed by Annapurna II and IV cutting sharply into the sky.

By the time we reach Manang, you know you’ve earned it. Sitting high in the mountains, Manang feels raw, remote, and powerful—a place where adventure lovers instantly feel at home.

Overnight stay at Manang.

  • Accomodation: Standard Hotel
  • Meals: Breakfast and Dinner
Day 05 : Manang - Beshishar(100 KM | 5-6 Hrs)

After breakfast, we saddle up once again and begin the ride back toward Besisahar, retracing the legendary route we took on our way to Manang. Riding the same trail in reverse brings a whole new perspective—what felt demanding on the ascent now flows with confidence and control.

The descent is nothing short of dramatic. Waterfalls cascade straight onto the road, sheer cliffs rise beside you, and deep gorges carve through the landscape. Along the way, natural hot springs add warmth and character to the rugged Himalayan terrain, reminding you how alive this region truly is.

As we pass through the familiar mountain villages once again, the scenery feels both known and new. The roads, curves, and landscapes that challenged you earlier now greet you like old friends—but your mindset as a rider has changed. With sharper skills and deeper connection to the mountains, every kilometer feels more meaningful.

This ride isn’t just about returning—it’s about realizing how far you’ve come.

  • Accomodation: Standard Hotel
  • Meals: Breakfast and Dinner
Day 06 : Beshishar - Pokhara(80 KM | 3-4 Hrs)

After days of hard-earned mountain riding, today is all about balance—giving your body some rest while still letting the journey unfold beautifully. After breakfast, we roll out toward Pokhara. Leaving Besisahar, the route drops down toward Sundar Bazar, from where we slip onto quiet village roads via Bholetar.

From Sundar Bazar, the road twists and turns gently, mixing in a few off-road patches with postcard-perfect views of rural Nepal—traditional houses, open fields, and village life unfolding at its own rhythm. It’s the kind of riding that reminds you why journeys matter just as much as destinations.

As we approach the outskirts of Pokhara, we may stop for a relaxed late lunch near Begnas Lake. From here, it’s about a 40-minute ride through city traffic to reach Pokhara.

After checking into the hotel and taking some well-deserved rest, the evening is spent exploring Pokhara’s Lakeside—strolling by the water, soaking in mountain reflections, cafés, and the easy vibe of one of Nepal’s most loved towns.

  • Accomodation: 4 * Hotel
  • Meals: Breakfast and Dinner
Day 07 : Pokhara - Kalopani(125 KM | 4-5 Hrs)

After breakfast, we bid goodbye to the calm lakeside views of Pokhara. The morning ride unfolds along scenic mountain highways, with sweeping vistas of snow-clad peaks and smooth stretches that make for a perfect warm-up before the terrain gets more adventurous.

As we head toward Beni, the scenery turns increasingly dramatic. We pause here for a short break and a thrilling walk across one of Nepal’s iconic suspension bridges — the Mangala Ghat Bridge — suspended high above the roaring river below.

The ride continues as we climb through the legendary Kali Gandaki Gorge, the deepest gorge in the world, where massive rock faces and raw Himalayan landscapes rise on either side. By late afternoon, we arrive at Kalopani, a quiet Himalayan village celebrated for its striking mountain views and deep sense of calm.

After check-in, the evening is yours to unwind or wander through the village. As night falls, settle in for a peaceful sleep, accompanied only by the silence and whispers of the mighty Himalayas.

  • Accomodation: Guest House
  • Meals: Breakfast and Dinner
Day 08 : Kalopani - Muktinath (52 KM | 2-3 Hrs)

The day starts early from Kalopani, carrying forward the raw, untamed spirit of the Kalopani bike trip. Riding alongside the powerful Kali Gandaki River, the route takes you through timeless Himalayan villages like Dana, Ghasa, and Tukuche.

As you ride ahead, breathtaking Kalopani mountain views unfold—towering giants like Mount Dhaulagiri, Tukuche Peak, and Nilgiri dominate the skyline. Sandwiched between the Dhaulagiri range and the Annapurna range, the landscape gradually transforms.

Beyond Jomsom, the ride becomes more challenging yet immensely rewarding. Expect rugged trails, dramatic mountain backdrops, cascading waterfalls, and occasional bursts of orange groves and apple orchards that add color to the raw landscape. From Jomsom, the road climbs steadily toward Muktinath, known as the “Place of Salvation.”

Upon arrival, you check into your accommodation and take time to rest. Later, you visit the sacred Muktinath Temple, revered by both Hindus and Buddhists. Standing here, surrounded by towering peaks and thin mountain air, marks a profound spiritual and emotional high point of the journey—where faith, altitude, and the untamed beauty of the Himalayas come together.

  • Accomodation: 3 * Hotel
  • Meals: Breakfast and Dinner
Day 09 : Muktinath - Tatopani(76 KM | 3-4 Hrs)

The day begins with a relaxed breakfast at Muktinath before you start descending toward Kagbeni, the gateway to Upper Mustang. Kagbeni feels like stepping into a different era—closely packed mud-brick houses, narrow shadowy alleys, and towering chortens line the ancient trekking route.

From Kagbeni, the ride continues to Jomsom, riding through the Kali Gandaki valley. Instead of stopping here, you push on for another ~25 km toward Kalopani—a slow, scenic stretch framed by changing terrain and dramatic Himalayan backdrops.

Lunch is planned at Marpha, a beautiful Thakali village renowned for its apple orchards and apple-based products. Stroll through its stone-paved lanes, admire the flat-roof Thak Khola architecture, and enjoy a hot, wholesome meal before resuming the journey.

Post lunch, the ride continues toward Tatopani. As altitude drops, the landscape transforms—barren high-altitude terrain gives way to greener hills and warmer air. On arrival, you check into the guesthouse. The rest of the day is free to unwind, explore the village, or simply relax—many riders opt to soak in Tatopani’s natural hot springs, the perfect reward after a long mountain ride.

  • Accomodation: 3 * Hotel
  • Meals: Breakfast and Dinner
Day 10 : Tatopani - Bandipur(181 KM | 5-6 Hrs)

After breakfast, we set out on our ride from Tatopani. Today’s Tatopani bike trail marks a refreshing shift—from challenging off-road stretches to smoother, scenic highways. The journey begins with a descent toward Beni, where well-laid roads offer welcome relief after some of the toughest terrain of the expedition.

Riding through Jaleswor, we pause briefly for refreshments before continuing along the main highway at Maldhunga. From here, the pace eases as we ride toward Pokhara. At the main junction near Pokhara, we merge onto the Kathmandu–Pokhara highway and continue onward.

After reaching Dumre Bazar, the route turns uphill for a scenic 9 km climb to the charming hilltop town of Bandipur. Often referred to as Nepal’s natural viewpoint tower, Bandipur rewards riders with sweeping panoramic views of the Annapurna Range, along with glimpses of Dhaulagiri. Manaslu, and Langtang on clear days.

  • Accomodation: 3 * Hotel
  • Meals: Breakfast and Dinner
Day 11 : Bandipur - Kathmandu(146 KM | 5-6 Hrs)

After breakfast, engines come alive for the last leg of the journey. We roll downhill from Bandipur, retracing the scenic stretch back to Dumre, where the hills slowly open up to the highways below. From here, the ride flows onto the main highway, heading toward Mugling—river curves, changing landscapes, and the rhythm of the road marking the closing chapter of this adventure.

At Mugling, we turn northeast and ride onward to Kathmandu, cruising through familiar highways that now feel earned after days of mountains, passes, and raw terrain. On arrival in Kathmandu, we check into the hotel. The rest of the day is yours—to unwind, revisit favorite corners of the city, or simply sit back and let the adventure sink in.

In the Evening, we come together for a farewell dinner, celebrating the successful completion of the Nepal expedition. Share stories, relive moments from the road, and enjoy a warm, laid-back evening.
