Backpacking Tour Route Details

Day 1 - Arrive in Leh

Leh Altitude . - 11500Ft

Welcome to the land of high passes and the land of moody weather. Fly to Leh Airport and take a taxi to the mentioned hotel at Leh. For a good cause, we request you bring a thermos bottle or a reusable bottle. Avoid buying plastic bottles and save nature. Relax upon reaching the hotel and keep your body hydrated to adapt to the sudden altitude change. Our team will meet you in the evening for a brief tour orientation and group introduction. Afterwards, we will have our first dinner in the cold desert. Overnight at Leh.

Day 2: Leh - Khardung La- Nubra

Khardung Alt. - 18500 feet Leh Altitude - 11500Ft

We will travel on the road above 18000 ft, maintained by Border Road Organisation. Steep turns, low oxygen & weather unpredictability ranks the experience among the most thrilling. We will make a photo stop at the top for a photo at the landmark board. We travel downhill towards Nubra Valley. We will make a stop at Diskit Monastery for prayers. Overnight stay at Nubra Valley campsite or guesthouse.

Day 3 - Nubra - Turtuk - LOC - Nubra

Nubra Alt. - 10080 feet Turtuk Alt. - 10000 feet

It is the day when we explore an untouched destination - Turtuk; once a part of Pakistan until 1971. Take it as an opportunity to explore the culture and hardship of locals who live with these extremities. After, we head to the last Indo Pak border town – Thang. Do not forget to take a snap with the mighty K2 from the topmost point in Turtuk. Visit the Sand dunes. We will return to the Nubra valley in the evening.

Day 4 - Nubra - Shyok - Pangong

Nubra Alt. - 10080 feet Pangong Alt. - 14000 feet

It is a day of making a way in mud & water crossings. Sandstorms and rolling stones are very usual crossings. Get your hand out of window to feel the breeze on your face. Few water crossings en route are so huge and challenging, nothing like you have seen before. Later, face hilly curves along the Shyok river. Overnight camp stays near the Pangong lake at Tangste or Spangmik.

Day 5 - Pangong - Leh

Pangong Alt. - 14000 feet Leh Alt. - 11500 feet

We will travel on the narrow road along the Pangong lake coast. You encounter numerous water streams before you reach the next big thing - Chang La Pass. En route the mountain peak, you travel uphill on earthen and gravel roads to mighty Chang La (17,580 Ft). Catch the glimpse of Kang Yisay Peak of Hemis National Park. Overnight stay at Leh.

Day 6 - Departure from Leh

Leh Altitude - 11500Ft

It's the day when we say bye to the beautiful city and the lovely people we met on the adventure. Take cab to Airport in order to reach at least 1.5 hours prior to departure time. Julley! See you on the next adventure.
