Motorcycle Tour Route Details

Day 1 - Arrival Phuentsholing

We welcome you to the ride! Reach Siliguri by flight or by train. Take a cab from the Airport / Railway station to reach to the Bhutan Border town Phuentsholing. There is an option to travel with our arrangement. On reaching, meet the team and check-in at the hotel at Phuentsholing. Meet everyone in the evening for orientation & the group meet up. Learn all about the road trip in orientation - the roadmap, Bhutan specific cultural and legal etiquettes, & rules the bike will be allotted & let you test the bike. Test ride it and do let us know issues if any. Overnight at Phuentsholing.

Day 2 - Phuentsholing – Thimphu (150 Km)

After breakfast, we head towards the immigration office to complete the immigration formalities including submitting the ID proof, biometrics, etc. This may take ample time; hence it is advisable to carry some eatables for lunch. After your individual permits and vehicle permits, we will ride into the happy country of Bhutan. If you have an urge for smoking, you can simply take a small walk to India for the last time as Bhutan is no smoking Country. We will glide through the picturesque landscape and magnifying aura, making the travel desired and easy. The time taken on the road will oscillate between 4-5 hours. We halt overnight at Thimphu.

Day 3 - Thimphu Local – Gangtey (130 Km)

We will visit Buddha Dordemma, a 51m tall statue of Buddha overlooking the Thimphu city. Next, we visit the National Chorten, a stupa in Thimphu, Folk Heritage Museum (an old farmhouse showing the rural life of Bhutanese), Later if time allows us, we head to Bhutan Paper factory and Bhutan postal museum. After lunch, we head to Gangtey (with the permits). On the way Stop at Dochu-La-Pass (3150 meters) to view the higher Himalayas. Afterwards, we head to Wang due. We will take a time break to explore the valley before heading to Gangtey. Overnight at Gangtey.

Day 4 - Gangtey – Punakha (80 Km)

With a wonderful night at the Phobjikha valley, it is time for the travellers to head to the next destination is the green Himalayan valleys of Bhutan. With our vehicles, we will continue towards the Punakha valley. The narrow hilly roads are surrounded with majestic sceneries to look. After reaching Punakha, we visit the Punakha Dzong which was named after Druk Pungthang Dechen Phodrang (Palace of Great Happiness). Afterwards, visit the suspension bridge followed by a local lunch. Rest of the day free for leisure. Overnight stay will be at Punakha.

Day 5 - Punakha – Paro (130 Km)

After breakfast, we depart to majestic Paro. Riding on the serpent would look very mildly difficult task once you witness the beauty. Be ready with paper for the check posts inline. Bikers must ride carefully as the visibility falls below 5 meters on the hilly roads. The roads are ironic to the beauty of Paro, accompanied by river, waterfalls and the breath-taking view from hills. Overnight at Paro.

Day 6 - Paro Local Sight Seeing – Taktsang Monastery

After enjoying the sunrise of the river confluence, we are leaving for the Tiger's Nest. You might want to save energy for 1700 ft hiking to the Monastery. Your listlessness of 2 hours hiking goes away entering the Monastery. Legend has it that Guru Rinpoche, who brought Buddhism to Bhutan in the eighth century flew to a cave in Taktshang spot on a tigress and meditated for three months. On a clear day, enjoy a splendid view of Bhutan’s sacred mountain, Mt Jomolhari. En-route visit the Kichu Lhakhang, which is one of the oldest temples in Bhutan, built in the 7th century. I hope you still have the energy to visit the remaining 154 temples of Paro. Walk down to the river bank to witness a beautiful sunset. Overnight at Paro.

Day 7 - Paro – Phuentsholing (145 Km)

On this day, we ride back from the land of Bhutan to Indian territory. We ride on the familiar terrains; firstly, to Phuentsholing. We ride through the breath-taking mountains and captivating scenic beauty towards India – Bhutan border. The smile would prevail noticing the small things missed before; a small sip of tea, locals smiling and so on. Overnight at the Bhutan border town.

Day 8 - Departure from Phuentsholing

After breakfast, proceed towards Bagdogra Airport/ Siliguri Railway station for onward Journey. The trip may have come to an end; we will always be connected with the memories of the trip. Tashi Delek. Log Jay Gay!
