BHUTAN is no ordinary place. It is a Himalayan kingdom with a reputation for mystery and magic, where a traditional Buddhist culture carefully embraces global developments. The Motorcycle Tours heads into the little known areas of West Bengal and then into the Buddhist Kingdom of Bhutan. Very few people have visited this kingdom. A magical motorbike adventure for sure. When you ride over Bhutan, you will become one of the few who have experienced the charm and magic of one of the world’s most enigmatic countries – the ‘last Shangri La’ This is a place which has so much to offer – serene and scenic landscapes, art, religion, culture, and of course, because it happens to be one of the few countries in the world that is still ruled by a King and a Queen.

Day-wise itinerary as you witness the route

Motorcycle Tour Route Details

Day 1-Siliguri–Phuentsholing (158 Km)

On arrival, the group will be received by our team at Bagdogra airport. We will depart in a group in the shared cab at 12 noon. We cross the tinsel town Siliguri embarking on the journey to the land of Dragons –Bhutan sailing and gliding across many meadows and an array of nature’s canvas. Bikers shall be travelling in the car till Phuentsholing. The beautiful journey will take 5-6 hours to reach Phuentsholing, located on the country’s border with Bhutan. On reaching there, you shall be putting up in a hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2 - Phuentsholing – Thimphu (170 Km)

The bikers shall be provided with the bike before we start our day in the beautiful country of Bhutan with a hearty breakfast. Later, we head towards the immigration office to complete the immigration formalities. The whole procedure takes a couple of hours including submitting the ID proof, biometrics, etc. The day begins with sumptuous breakfast and kicking for Thimphu. We will glide through the picturesque landscape and magnifying aura, making the travel desired and easy. The time taken on the road will oscillate between 4-5 hours. We halt overnight at Thimphu.

Day 3 - Thimphu (170 Km)

After breakfast, visit Buddha Dordemma; a 51m tall statue of Buddha overlooking the Thimphu city. Next, we visit the National Chorten, a stupa in Thimphu followed by Simply Bhutan. Here you can delve in the Bhutanese Culturewearing their traditional dresses, enjoying the traditional dance or even practice archery. Later, visit the Folk Heritage Museum (an old farmhouse showing the rural life of Bhutanese) for a traditional Bhutanese lunch of Ema Datsi or Kew Datsi. After lunch, we head to Bhutan Paper factory and Bhutan postal museum. Overnight stay at Thimphu.

Day 4 - Thimphu – Wang Due – Punakha (90 Km)

After breakfast, we head to Punakha via Phobjikha/Wang due Valley ( along with the permits ). On the way Stop at Dochu-La-Pass (3150 mts.) to view the higher Himalayas. Afterwards, we head to Wang due. We will take a time break to explore the valley before heading to Punakha After reaching Punakha, we visit the Punakha Dzong which was named after Druk Pungthang Dechen Phodrang (Palace of Great Happiness). Afterwards, visit the suspension bridge followed by a local lunch. Rest of the day free for leisure. Overnight stay will be at Punakha.

Day 5 - Punakha- Paro (130 Km)

After breakfast, we depart to majestic Paro. Riding on the serpent would look very mildly difficult task once you witness the beauty. Be ready with paper for the check posts inline. Bikers must ride carefully as the visibility falls below 5 meters on the hilly roads. The roads are ironic to the beauty of Paro, accompanied by river, waterfalls and the breathtaking view from hills. Overnight at Paro.

Day 6 - Paro – Tiger Nest – Paro (90 Km)

After enjoying the sunrise of the river confluence, we are leaving for the Tiger's Nest. You might want to save energy for 1700 ft hiking to the Monastery. Your listlessness of 2 hours hiking goes away entering the Monastery. Afterwards, we head back to Paro to enjoy the farm visit and delicious farm lunch. I hope you still have the energy to visit the remaining 154 temples of Paro. Walk down to the river bank to witness a beautiful sunset. Overnight at Paro.

Day 7 - Paro –Siliguri (315 Km)

On this day, we ride rigorous. We ride on the familiar terrains; firstly to Phuentsholing, The smile would prevail noticing the small things missed before; a small sip of tea, locals smiling and so on. We ride through the breath-taking mountains and captivating scenic beauty towards the India – Bhutan border. The bikers shall be riding the bikes till Phuentsholing. Later everyone will be travelling in the shared cab and reach Siliguri. We will drop you at the drop point a Siliguri. The trip may have come to an end; we will always be connected with the memories of the trip. Tashidelek. Log Jay Gay!
